Experienced German rider Jasha Sütterlin will join Team Jayco AlUla in 2025 with a new two-year contract, strengthening the Australian squad’s classics line-up as well as its sprint lead-out train.
The 31-year-old from Freiburg is a veteran of the professional peloton after joining the WorldTour in 2014, riding in support of some of the world’s best riders during that time.
Over his career, Sütterlin has proved himself to be a solid classics performer with a top-10 finish at the E3 Saxo Classic in 2019. More recently, he’s showed his skills as a lead-out rider, and he will help Team Jayco AlUla’s two fast men, Dylan Groenewegen and Caleb Ewan.
Brent Copeland – General Manager:
“We have spent a lot of time, along with the performance group to create a balanced roster for 2025 and Sütterlin is a very experienced rider and will bring a lot of horsepower to the team. We know he is a great all-round rider that has a huge engine and has been a trusted domestique in a whole host of races.
It’s riders like Sütterlin that really make the foundations of a team, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring him onboard. With believe he will fit in well and play a big role in the lead-out trains whilst also bolstering our classics group.”
Jasha Sütterlin:
“I’m honoured to be joining Australia’s only WorldTour team, challenging myself in this new experience and giving the best support possible and enjoying the spirit of the team.
I see myself as a classic and TT rider and as a support rider for stage races and grand tours. I look forward to racing classics and a grand tour, but I really enjoy riding my bike, so every race is a new way to challenge myself.
I am loyal to the role that the team decides to assign me; the moment I receive my role, it’s finished for me once the goal has been achieved. My personal ambition is to improve my skills, especially in time trials, to reach together with the team the goals set and some personal results.”
