Georgia Baker will have the full backing of the Liv AlUla Jayco squad at the forthcoming Classic Brugge-De Panne.
The Australian has enjoyed a consistently strong start to the 2024 season and the team will rally around Baker at the one-day race.
While it is traditionally a sprinters’ course, the Classic Brugge-De Panne can sometimes throw up some surprises, especially when the weather plays a factor. The team has prepared for this and has built a line-up ready to take on any surprises.
Jeanne Korevaar has been developing as a road captain since joining the team at the start of the season and will continue in that role in Belgium. Fellow 2024 signing Anna Trevisi will play an important part in the final leadout.
Teniel Campbell, Silke Smulders, and Georgie Howe will be tasked with keeping Baker safe in the notoriously tricky Belgian conditions, as well as aiding the final sprint to the line.

Georgia Baker:
“I’m excited for Classic Brugge-De Panne this year, we have a really strong team and it’s a race that I have been targeting.
This race can be heavily influenced by the weather and particularly by the wind, so we have to be ready for anything to happen.”
Megan Chard (Sport Director):
“We have been working with Georgia on and off the bike with her sprinting and this is going to be the first step in testing where we are at. The team is going to back her 100% for the sprint in what they call the ‘sprinters world champs’. By no means will it be an easy race, and we know that it won’t be as simple as just looking at the last 10km.
There has been a change of course which makes for some interesting racing into position into the classic ‘De Moeren’ section but we will have to see how the wind looks on the day. Regardless, we have a team of engines, with Teniel, Silke, and Georgie that will not only be able to contribute to the leadout but give Georgia a lot of protection and safety in these potentially dangerous sections.
With Anna coming from working with some of the best sprinters in the past, and Jeanne falling into a great leadership/team captain role, we are motivated for this race and to support Georgia in these next steps.”
