Liv AlUla Jayco is pleased to confirm the signing of Amber van der Hulst as the Dutch rider joins the Continental Team for the rest of the 2024 season, before making the step up to Liv AlUla Jayco UCI WorldTeam in January 2025.
The 24-year-old was regarded as one of the biggest Dutch talents for many years having achieved a host of excellent results in races such as Omloop der Kempen Ladies and Baloise Ladies Tour, with her sprint power proven to be her strongest weapon.
Over the course of the past two seasons however, Van der Hulst unfortunately struggled with a persistent injury to her femoral artery. After receiving treatment in France earlier this year, her physical problem was remedied, and the talented sprinter has been able to return to full training.
Liv AlUla Jayco has been in close contact with Van der Hulst for some time and is pleased to be able to give her the opportunity that she deserves, as she strives to reach her true potential once again after the surgery.
The former Liv Racing rider will strengthen the Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team for the remainder of the season, as she joins with immediate effect. It will give her time to regain her race rhythm, before a solid winter of training and a grand entrance into the WorldTeam in January 2025.

“The fact that I was able to sign a contract with Liv AlUla Jayco is fantastic. Team manager Eric van den Boom, whom I still know from our time together at Liv Racing, has always kept in touch with me during the difficult period. I am very grateful to him and the team for the opportunity offered. With this contract I feel calm, which means I can do everything I can to get stronger. I am very driven to show myself and cycling followers that with a strong mind you can go very far.“
“After the second surgery on my femoral artery, I was told that my cycling career was over. But I kept courage and confidence and then requested a second opinion in France, with Professor Laurent Chiche. I wanted to do everything possible, because otherwise I could never have accepted the stop. Professor Chiche saw opportunities to treat my injury, which eventually succeeded. I am eternally grateful to him. Now, more than ever, I enjoy cycling. It is extraordinary that I can do this again.”
Eric van den Boom – Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team Manager
“We know Amber van der Hulst as a very talented and driven rider. We have enjoyed working with her in the past and supported her during her difficult time. First and foremost, we are happy for her that she is able to cycle again. Moreover, we are confident that she can reach a very high level again. For the next few weeks, we are compiling a suitable programme for her so that she can gain rhythm with the Continental team. In 2025, she will make the switch to our WorldTeam.”
