Marr and Ward secure overall ProVelo Super League titles to win GreenEDGE Cycling contracts

After six rounds, the new and exciting ProVelo Super League concluded this weekend in Brisbane, Australia with two worthy winners, Sophie Marr and Jack Ward. The duo earned themselves elusive and hotly contest prizes – two GreenEDGE Cycling contracts.

After a fierce battle in the U23 women’s event, 20-year-old Marr claimed the title to be offered a full contract on the Liv AlUla Jayco Continental team for 2026, while Ward displayed great consistency and class throughout the various events and has been awarded with a sought-after stagiaire contract with Team Jayco AlUla UCI WorldTour team, from August 2025.

With a prize like no other, the competition has been incredible throughout the entire league, which kicked off alongside the Santos Tour Down Under back in January. The league has seen the best young athletes come together from all over Australia and beyond, battling it out to win the attractive prize; a unique opportunity to kick start their international careers.

Marr headed into the final round with a slim lead and managed to hold on through the tough final stages to secure a place on Liv AlUla Jayco Continental team. The 20-year-old displayed her grit, determination and incredible consistency and will has the opportunity to join the women’s continental squad later this season, ahead of 2026.

Sophie Marr explained after the final event:
“I’m so excited, I’m lost for words, truly that I have won the overall ProVelo Super League. Going into the final round everyone was like ‘ohh you’ve got this, you’ve got this, your pens in your hand ready to sign’ and I was like guys don’t talk too soon. Obviously, the last stage was a big fight, and I am just lost words to have won. I looked down at my computer and I saw 200 meters to go, and I was like oh that’s not that far left, but it was a brutal 200 meters, I’ll tell you that for sure.”

Ward’s title win means he has earnt himself a unique opportunity to join Team Jayco AlUla UCI WorldTour team later this year with the chance to race side by side with experienced pros, learning from the very best in the highest level of international racing.

GreenEDGE Cycling General Manager Brent Copeland said:
“It has been great following the league over the past months and seeing the amount of talent that is in Australia now. The two winners have proven themselves in each event and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to be able to bring them into the GreenEDGE Cycling family. It is fantastic to have the chance to work closely with our performance team and it will be interesting to see what the young up and coming talent is capable of achieving with a strong WorldTour support network around them.

The league has proven to be very successful and a superb way to find new young talent and we’re grateful to Matt Wilson, Arran Flanagan and of course Gerry Ryan for their commitment.”
