Caroline Andersson rode to her debut Women’s WorldTour podium, finishing second after an aggressive Tour of Guangxi Women.
The 24-year-old was initially part of a breakaway group of 12 riders, which included her Liv AlUla Jayco teammate Ruby Roseman-Gannon.
With a small gap over the chasing peloton as the leaders hit the last of four climbs of the day, Andersson pushed clear of her break companions alongside Anna Henderson.
The duo worked well together to build an advantage of close to a minute as they approached the finish line. In the two-up sprint, Henderson edged Andersson, but the Swedish rider had done enough to secure her first-ever Women’s WorldTour podium finish.

“It was a nice day, I knew it was a climb and an effort that really suited me so I really wanted to go for it and make it a hard race. I think we did really good as a team and the girls did really well and I’m super proud of them and how they worked today. They just kept fighting and supporting me the best that they could. I would have loved to finish it off better, but Henderson was just better in the sprint today. I didn’t have the legs anymore. In one way, I’m disappointed but it’s also my first WorldTour podium so I have to be satisfied. It’s a really nice way to end the season and it gives me a lot of confidence and motivation for next year.”
