GreenEDGE Cycling and the Saudi Cycling Federation announce strategic partnership agreement

GreenEDGE Cycling is thrilled to announce a new strategic partnership agreement with the Saudi Cycling Federation, signalling a serious and important step in the development of cycling within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

With over 180 members across four different teams (Men and Women’s UCI WorldTour Teams plus Men and Women’s UCI Continental teams), GreenEDGE Cycling will provide the Saudi Cycling Federation with access to its wealth of knowledge and experience. The partnership will create a new system and pathway for the federation to grow into a world-leading and results-based organisation, with Vision 2030 on the horizon.

With incredible growth and a shift in focus taking place within the sports and commercial industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Cycling Federation has high ambitions to nurture its undeveloped sporting talent and make its mark within the sporting industry worldwide.

Through this exclusive partnership with a UCI Cycling WorldTeam, the federation will have an invaluable opportunity to access and utilise GreenEDGE Cycling’s high-level resources and expertise, to expand and make the next step onto the cycling world stage.

Brent Copeland, GreenEDGE Cycling General Manager expressed his excitement around the new project and partnership:

“We’re very happy to share the news of this partnership with the Saudi Cycling Federation, there’s a lot of untouched talent within the Kingdom and we are delighted to be involved with and support their development. Providing the Saudi Cycling Federation with access to our extensive resource pool, we are confident that we can help make a real impact and assist in the growth of cycling within the nation.

Already through our naming rights partner, AlUla, we have had the opportunity to make a change and support with the development of talent, with the likes of Moroj Adil; the first female Saudi rider to join a UCI Continental Team, as she races with our Liv AlUla Jayco Continental team setup. It is inspiring for all involved as we look ahead and to helping future generations.”

Abdulaziz Al-Shahrani, President of the Saudi Cycling Federation added:

“This partnership marks another step forward for the Kingdom’s ambition to grow cycling into a competitive and sustainable sport where we excel and achieve results on the global stage. Partnering with a leading organisation like GreenEDGE Cycling not only enhances our performance development, but also positions Saudi Arabia at the forefront of best practice in sport science and technology. It’s an exciting moment for our athletes, our fans, and our future.”
