Pate returns to racing at Tour of Britain Women as Liv AlUla Jayco target stages

Amber Pate will return to racing at this month’s Tour of Britain Women after five months out of racing following surgery to remove a tumour earlier this year.

The Australian will be part of a strong all-terrain Liv AlUla Jayco squad heading to the five-day race and targeting stage success.

Lining up alongside Pate will be her fellow Australians in sprinter Georgia Baker and all-rounder Josie Talbot. Meanwhile, Quinty Ton returns to the race after taking a top-10 result overall last season, joined by compatriot Noä Jansen.

Swedish climber Caroline Andersson rounds out the line-up, ensuring the team has durability, and plenty of options on the often-unpredictable roads in the UK.

With an extra day added for the 2026 edition, this year’s race will be the longest, and toughest, since it was revived in 2024. Starting in Cockermouth, England, the race will wind its way south, taking in two stages in Wales before finishing back in England in Royal Leamington Spa.

“I am so excited to finally be back racing after such a long period away. I have worked hard to come back to fitness whilst managing recovery and additional fatigue from surgery which was just over three months ago. Although it has been such a positive progression and despite lacking race fitness and intensity, Britain is one of my favourite races on the calendar, and it’s such a perfect way to return to the peloton and be with my teammates. It’s been quite a journey to get here, and I’m quite emotional and proud that I’ve made it back to racing this season. So, I am going to be enjoying the hard days.”

“This looks to be the hardest and longest edition we’ve had for the Tour of Britain Women recently, which is exciting and really promising for the race as well. This year’s edition is between England and Wales and we’re going to have that, typically British, small and twisting roads with unforgiving terrain. We have six strong riders that have prepared well for this race and we’re looking to target stages and go for the best result that we can each day. Everyone is excited and motivated to be back in the UK and start racing again next week.”
