Quinty Ton will make her debut to racing with Liv AlUla Jayco at Vuelta a Burgos Feminas this week. The 25-year-old from the Netherlands has recovered from multiple fractures after being hit by a car in February. Known for her climbing and strength, Ton will use this tour to gain the momentum of racing again and enjoy being back with the team.
After being sidelined with injury during the Spring Classics, Australian Champion, Ruby Roseman-Gannon will also be back in action in Spain. Roseman-Gannon is eager to see where her form is at and will use this race to build for the summer ahead.
New Zealand National Champion, Ella Wyllie showed her strength in the recent Itzulia Basque Country, where she claimed the Young Riders jersey. Wyllie will be aiming for a high General Classification result again this week. Australian all-rounder, Alexandra Manly comes in fresh off an altitude camp and will be looking for stage opportunities throughout the tough four days of racing.
Adding extra firepower to the team´s strong line up will be Australian, Amber Pate and Dutchy, Silke Smulders.
The four-day stage race has a history of being an ¨open race¨ with sprint and breakaway opportunities, punchy hills, and high chances of echelons due to the long, open and exposed roads. The final stage will be a decisive general classification stage which includes the steep climb of Alto de Rozavientos, 3.5kms at 9.3% average gradient.

Quinty Ton:
¨It has been a long comeback. At the start of February, I got hit by a car during training. The result was a broken pelvis, broken knee, and broken hand. I also suffered several contusions, and an internal bleeding. As you can imagine, I needed to start from 0. But it all went well, I am happy I can ride my bike again and I am eager to make good results with the team. Last week I did a race with the Liv AlUla Jayco Women´s Continental team, it felt already so nice to be back in the peloton. Now, I am also back with the World Tour Team. It is hard to say where I am at this moment, but I will find out soon in Burgos. That is also a bit of my goal for the race. Coming back in the rhythm, feel the intensity and race with my heart. It is a nice race and I think if we ride attentive and take initiative we can make a good result. ¨
Wim Stroetinga- Sport Director:
¨We are heading to Burgos with Quinty and Ruby who are back racing after injury, they are really motivated and ready to race. The stages are nice, and we will go for the GC with Ella and a stage win during stage 1-3. We need to be sharp each stage because it will be open and a big chance of echelons. We have a strong team and for sure we can do well as a team. We will show our team colours on the front and take initiative ourselves during crucial moments. It´s always better to do it yourself then waiting for others! ¨
