{"id":44644,"date":"2024-03-07T17:12:27","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T17:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greenedgecycling.com\/2024\/?p=44644"},"modified":"2024-03-08T11:59:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T11:59:18","slug":"luke-plapp-books-a-second-day-in-yellow-at-paris-nice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenedgecycling.com\/2026\/luke-plapp-books-a-second-day-in-yellow-at-paris-nice\/","title":{"rendered":"Luke Plapp books a second day in yellow at Paris-Nice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The sun shone on Australian champion <strong>Luke Plapp<\/strong> as he spent his first day in the yellow race leader&#8217;s jersey at <strong>Paris-Nice<\/strong>, and then secured\u00a0it for another day.<br><br>After some hard\u00a0work in the hills on the previous stage, the peloton\u2019s thoughts turned to a sprint finish heading into Sisteron.<br><br>An early breakaway set the tone for the day as <strong>Team Jayco AlUla<\/strong> worked to both keep Plapp safe in yellow and try to set up <strong>Dylan Groenewegen<\/strong> for the potential bunch sprint.<br><br>There were some late attacks from several of the general classification contenders, but the moves were shut down.<br><br>In the frenetic finish, Groenewegen took a minor placing\u00a0but Plapp was able to cross the line safe in the knowledge that he had another day in yellow ahead of him.<br><br><strong><u>Luke Plapp (Race leader)<\/u><\/strong><br><em>\u201cIt was nice. The sun was out, and the French roads were beautiful today,\u00a0I really enjoyed it.\u00a0It was a super-fast\u00a0and frantic finish trying to catch the breakaway. It\u00a0was a beautiful day and I really like being in yellow.<br>\u00a0<br>Today\u00a0was a nice recovery day after a hard effort yesterday. I think tomorrow is going to be hard but we don\u2019t really know what to expect. Obviously, there\u2019s going to be a lot of guys that want to make up time on the GC, too.
