{"id":46418,"date":"2024-05-10T16:15:59","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T16:15:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greenedgecycling.com\/2024\/?p=46418"},"modified":"2024-05-11T14:50:32","modified_gmt":"2024-05-11T14:50:32","slug":"plapp-powers-into-the-white-jersey-in-giro-ditalia-stage-seven-time-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenedgecycling.com\/2026\/plapp-powers-into-the-white-jersey-in-giro-ditalia-stage-seven-time-trial\/","title":{"rendered":"Plapp powers into the white jersey in Giro d\u2019Italia stage seven time trial"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Australian champion <strong>Luke Plapp <\/strong>powered into the white jersey at the <strong>Giro d\u2019Italia<\/strong> with a measured ride against the clock in the stage seven time trial.<br><br>The 23-year-old backed up his third place finish in yesterday\u2019s chaotic stage six\u00a0with another strong performance to take seventh in today\u2019s 40km TT and move himself into the lead of the best young rider classification.<br><br>The result also sees Plapp move up into the top five overall as he jumps up 10 places and into fifth position ahead of a big weekend of racing.<br><br>Italian <strong>Filippo Zana <\/strong>also delivered an impressive ride to finish 15th on the stage, catapulting himself into the top-10 on the general classification in ninth place and making it two<strong> Team Jayco AlUla<\/strong> riders in the top-10 overall.<br><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Luke Plapp:<\/strong><br><\/span><em>\u201cI\u2019m happy, it was a super nice day. I haven\u2019t had the best time trials in Europe since I started my professional career, so I\u2019m happy to have a good time trial here today.<br><br>It definitely wasn\u2019t my best, I felt the legs after yesterday, but I am happy with the result in the end.
