Tasmanian rider Georgia Baker<\/strong> sprinted herself onto the podium once again with an impressive third place finish at the one-day Victorian race, the Surf Coast Classic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After coming close to victory last Sunday, at the Schwalbe Classic in Adelaide where she picked up a close second place finish, the Liv AlUla Jayco<\/strong> rider found herself once again in the top three after strong backing from her teammates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no respite for the riders on the 118km route from Lourne to Torquay with wind playing a part in the race, ahead of a super-fast sprint finish on a wide-open road with a heavy tailwind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the help of her teammates, Baker was able to position herself ready for the sprint, putting it all on the line before delivering the goods once again with a well fought out podium result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attention now turns to Saturday\u2019s one-day WorldTour Classic, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race where the climbers and puncheur riders will come out to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia Baker \u2013 Third place<\/strong><\/span>
\u201cThe race was really, really hard today, there wasn\u2019t really a dull moment there was always lots happening. We started off with a 10km climb which made it a solid day for me. Everybody was super attentive, expecting cross winds and potential damaging splits but that never eventuated and so we knew it would be a sprint finish. It was very fast coming into the final five kilometres and the girls set me up perfectly and I am very proud to be able to pull off a podium finish for them, so it was a good day all round.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
