A more than convincing victory for the Continental Team<\/strong> of Liv AlUla Jayco<\/strong> saw the six-member team win the short team time trial on the first day of the Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victory also sees Scottish teenager Erin Boothman<\/strong> take the lead in the general classification in the four-day stage race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team time trial is an event that is not often on the Continental Team\u2019s programme, making the team\u2019s performance on the streets of Viareggio all the more impressive. On the 5km plus course, the Liv AlUla Jayco train looked like a well-oiled machine, with an average speed of almost 51 kilometres per hour, the squad was seven seconds faster than the next best team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Boothman, the success is even more special. The 18-year-old has been riding as a trainee with Liv AlUla Jayco since August and the Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile is just her second race with the Australian outfit. In the team time trial, Boothman was the first of the team to cross the finish line, putting the British talent in the lead of the general classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was an extremely short team time trial of just over 5 kilometres. We had reconned it thoroughly beforehand and determined the starting order that seemed best and most efficient to us. All six of us did fairly short but strong stints at the front. You wouldn\u2019t say we\u2019re still relatively inexperienced in this discipline, because the speed was really high and the teamwork was exceptionally good. We can be proud of ourselves!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A victory in my second race for the team is very special and beyond all expectations. Hopefully, it will also be the prelude to a successful Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile. We will do everything we can to continue the good start in the next three stages.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
