During his time as a professional, De Marchi racked up three Grand Tour stage victories, as well as claiming stage wins at top races such the Crit\u00e9rium du Dauphin\u00e9 and Tour of the Alps, and at one-day races Giro dell\u2019Emilia and Tre Valli Varesine.<br>\u00a0<br>After an 18-year career, and three seasons spent with <strong>GreenEDGE Cycling<\/strong>, De Marchi called time on his impressive career this year. He joins a strong line-up of sport directors at Team Jayco AlUla, where his recent experience in the peloton will be invaluable.<br>\u00a0<br><strong><u>Alessandro De Marchi<\/u><\/strong><br><em>\u201cI&#8217;ve been waiting a long time for this new position. I&#8217;m happy to finally take this step, and above all, I&#8217;m happy because I can begin this new journey in an organization I know, one that recognizes me, and one that has always valued me for who I am. I know I&#8217;ll be starting from scratch, I&#8217;ll begin to reconstruct myself in this new role, which I&#8217;d like to interpret a bit like I did as a rider: with passion and determination for a job I love.
