The 19-year-old Briton clocked an average speed of nearly 46 kilometres per hour in the 26-kilometre time trial, finishing a full 01:51 ahead of the number two.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Irish National Cycling Championships on Saturday,&nbsp;<strong>Emma Jeffers<\/strong>&nbsp;sprinted to second place from a breakaway group in a mixed race featuring the elite category. That performance earned her the title in the U23 category.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national championships resulted in yet another medal for the Continental Team on Sunday. Erin Boothman sprinted to seventh place at the British Championships, thereby securing the U23 bronze medal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Erin Boothman<\/u><\/strong><br><em>\u201cI\u2019m absolutely happy with my ride in the U23 time trial; I really wanted to perform well here. It was a scorching hot day in Wales and the course was incredibly fast. I committed hard to the first lap and then held on for glory in the second lap. I\u2019m also pleased to see that my time would have put me third in the elite category.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">British U23 national time trial championships (WU) results<\/span><br><strong>1. Abigail Miller +2:36<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Emma Jeffers<\/u><\/strong><br><em>\u201cIt was a tough race with constant ups and downs. On the main climb in the big lap, I was in a group of four. Later, five more riders joined us. It was a brilliant leading group, and I was happy to be part of it. In the sprint, Lara Gillespie was simply too strong. I can be pleased with my second place, especially when you consider where I\u2019ve come from. This was only my third race since breaking my scaphoid. I\u2019m now looking forward to getting back to work with the team.
