GreenEDGE Cycling announces a restructuring of the Performance Group which will see Matthew White step aside from the organisation with immediate effect, marking the close of an extraordinary chapter in the team’s history.
White, a longstanding member of the team, has been a central figure in GreenEDGE’s growth and identity since its inception. His passion, leadership, and tactical insight have led to unforgettable successes — Grand Tour stage victories, major one-day race wins, and the continued development of the team’s high-performance programs.
White, who was more recently appointed the role of Director of High Performance & Racing, has inspired and mentored a new generation of staff and riders over the past decade. As the team looks toward the future, a restructuring will position GreenEDGE Cycling to meet new challenges and seize fresh opportunities.
General Manager Brent Copeland reflected on White’s personal impact:
“Matt has been more than a Sport Director — he’s been a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many. His tireless dedication and commitment to our riders has left a profound mark on this team. We are sincerely grateful and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
Team Owner Gerry Ryan also paid tribute:
“Matt has been part of our dream from the very beginning, guiding our athletes through some of their greatest moments and helping build a team culture rooted in true values. While it’s time for change, Matt will always remain part of the GreenEDGE family.”
As GreenEDGE Cycling competes in its 14th season, the team is embracing innovation, data-driven performance, and talent development. New appointments will be announced in the coming months.
Matthew White departs with the heartfelt appreciation and best wishes from the entire organisation.
