Monica Trinca Colonel and Letizia Paternoster will lead Liv AlUla Jayco’s push for a podium at this weekend’s Trofeo Alfredo Binda, on Sunday, 15 March.
Trinca Colonel will arrive at the race off the back of a strong start to the season, which saw her score her first WorldTour general classification podium at the UAE Tour Women and a top 10 at Strade Bianche.
Paternoster has also been building good form heading into her major goals of the season and recently scored a solid top-10 finish at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. The 26-year-old gives the team an option for a reduced bunch sprint, while Trinca Colonel’s aggressive racing lends itself to the often-attacking nature of the race.
Rounding out the team is the experienced Ruby Roseman-Gannon, alongside Matilde Vitillo, Josie Talbot, and Nadia Gontova – the latter two of which are making their debut at the Italian one-day race.

“Last weekend, it was a brutal Strade Bianche where I went beyond my limits several times, but I’m satisfied with how I finished it and aware that I gave my absolute best and I feel good with where I am. Once again, the start list at Binda is of a very high level. We expect strong and determined rivals, but we will try to do our best, ready for whatever race scenarios may unfold. I think we can aim for a good result.”

“Binda in the past has shown that it’s a race that can be won aggressively with solo breakaways or small groups. In recent years, it’s also been won in reduced bunch sprints so we’ve got a team to cover all areas there. After Strade, we’ve shown that Monica is in great form during this period as well as the other riders on the team.
Our climbing crew is riding really well at the moment, they’ve had their eyes on this period. Letizia Paternoster is also riding really strong and is a fast finisher for us so we’re looking forward to racing Binda. It’s a race that’s close to our service course and roads that we’re very familiar with and kind of our home race in Europe. We’re really looking forward to aiming for a podium result this weekend.”
